My Memorial Day weekend...in Jersey

Welcome to the neighborhood...

This weekend was so lovely, and Jersey was a good get away from all the fast pace of the city life. I decided to spend the weekend in the Montclair section of Jersey by a friend's place and be a tourist for a few days. I was greatly entertained I might add.

Took a stop by Division East skate shop to peep the skate scene and picked up a couple things.

Being that architecture is what I do, I took some shots of a couple beautiful old homes that peeked my interest.

This was one of the coolest Memorial Day weekends i've had in a long time. Thanks S

Brooklyn...DUMBO

Today was such a lovely day here in Brooklyn that I decided to spend the day in DUMBO checking the sites and enjoying the day with a friend. By the way if you're in the neighborhood please check out the photo festival going on.

One of a few places in Brooklyn that on a nice day the view is spectacular.
Had to make a stop for some of Brooklyn's finest ice cream from the Ice Cream Factory.

Took a quick stop for some lunch at Miso Sushi.

Sick

Being sick sucks especially when you're home doing absolutely nothing. I'm not even in the mood to sketch anything. Somebody bring me something to drink. Plleeeaasseee!!!!!

King of Spring (Review)

So Sat. was the big "King of Spring" here in NY right? Well it wasn't as great as I expected though. Too many amateurs and not enough tricks being done. All-in-all the day was a good look for NY skate culture. Plenty kids and folks turned out to check the scene and the weather was beautiful. Peep the flicks...

Billy Rohan was doing his MC thing

This fool came out after the competition was over with his razor scooter and well you can see how that turned out for him, head busted wide open.

Murakami and I

So this weekend my boy and I took a stroll to the Brooklyn Museum to check out the Murakami exhibit. This exhibit was hyped up for a week now plus with all the news floating around about the Kanye performance opening night, this definitely was the place to be this weekend here in New York. The exhibit itself was pretty spectacular to me. Seeing Murakami's work in person is really the way to do it. All these year of just seeing it on my computer screen now coming to live was really worth it. The vibrant color he uses, in his person seem like he re-invents color palettes and comes up with his own. Some pieces we very provocative and i was surprised to even see parents having there kids looking at the "big nipple" girls. The Luis Vitton workers were full in affect trying to sell the over prices bag and the gift shop was selling items like hot cakes. All in all the show was very worth it so if your around and want to see good art please go check it out. More pictures below.
